Payroll Manager


 

Our Business Advisory team is searching for a friendly, motivated Payroll Manager to lead our outsourced payroll team and play a key role in assisting external clients with payroll matters.

In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing client payroll processes and client relationship management. As a Payroll Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of payroll for our clients. You will also assist with other financial management responsibilities, including maintaining the client's general ledger and cashbook systems and preparing month-end and year-end workpapers, including reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

    To review and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of client payroll processing while maintaining client databases and payroll records
  • Ensuring thorough checking procedures are in place and proactively identify payroll issues,
  • Liaise with the Human Resources team and Directors to seek clarification on any employment law or payroll risks
  • Collaborate with clients directly to resolve any payroll-related discrepancies or issues
  • Train staff and delegate responsibilities as required
  • Stay updated on changes in applicable legislation to ensure compliance

We are ideally looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Previous New Zealand payroll experience, preferably at a management level
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including the Holidays Act and Employment Relations Act
  • Knowledge of and experience in professional services firms advantageous
  • An enthusiastic team player
