About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join Vector Metering. As Head of Portfolio and Service Creation you will `be directly accountable for the delivery of our Digital project portfolio. This is a “full stack” role which supports not only significant technology changes but also the business change elements of the new services being delivered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing oversight and support of the prioritisation of projects, enabling the mobilisation of work for the value stream, and developing project definitions and budgets to ensure benefits realisation, as agreed with stakeholders.
- Providing portfolio leadership, integration and management of processes and functions to improve the consistency and efficiency of project delivery
- Build capability across the organisation to speed benefit realisation and effectively prioritise work
- Contributing to new and innovative project management approaches and tools and embed these in the behaviour and day to day activities.
- Providing assurance to the CTO of high performance, cost effectiveness and fit with current and future business demands.
- Managing the delivery, interdependencies, and coordination across our project portfolio, such as sizing and estimation of work, and ensuring that information relating to project deliverables including risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders and key performance indicators are monitored and evaluated.
- Supporting the customer bid process with skilled resources, responses and solutions.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with a minimum of 10 years project management experience, with a significant portion operating within agile working environments. You will have a problem solving and continuous improvement mindset with a strong focus on the customer and you will have well developed business/ financial acumen. Experience in contemporary software development is a must as is dealing with the nuts and bolts of core infrastructure and cloud services.
Your organisational and leadership skills will top notch and you will have demonstrated ability to lead a team of delivery practitioners and analyst to across multiple projects with high priority, challenges, obstacles, and deadlines. Your attention to detail, coaching and communication skills will be exceptional, You will demonstrate the ability to authentically and professionally partner with internal and external stakeholders.
