About the role
The Sexual Health Service is seeking a part-time health care assistant to join our small multi-disciplinary team based in the Community Village, Palmerston North Hospital Campus with outreach clinics in the Horowhenua and Tararua regions.
This is a varied role within a clinical environment, and you will take instruction and direction from the nurses, whilst having a helpful and team focused approach to making a difference to the environment, and the care provided to the patients under our care. The successful candidate must be non-judgemental and maintain confidentiality of service users.
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be involved in:
- Supporting members of the health care team
- Patient cares under the delegation of a nurse/doctor
- Ensuring the clinic environment is well stocked and ready for patient cares
- Assisting with procedures
- Taking blood samples from patient
- Administrative duties
We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants who:
- Are dynamic, friendly and can demonstrate a high level of initiative
- Relate well to all kinds of people, with good interpersonal people skills
- Have sound computer knowledge
- Are well organised, punctual, a problem solver
- Are interested in the organisation and providing excellent care
The position is for 30 hours a week and varies between 5 and 8 hours a day Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. There is also one evening clinic per week, on a Tuesday.
