As a Physical Trainer you will conduct physical training for NZDF personnel and new recruits onto the base to help improve, maintain and restore physical fitness.

The main responsibilities of this role are to:- Instruct classes of up to 30 people in a range of physical training activities, mainly strength and conditioning, sports related and some water based activities;
- Organise and deliver sport and recreation activities such as sports tournaments and triathlon events;
- Facilitate and instruct staff in adventure activities mainly in rock climbing, abseiling, mountain biking and sea kayaking. You will ideally be experienced in one or more of these areas but full training and qualifications will be provided on the job; and
- Deliver individualised personal training programmes as and when required.

To be successful in this role you will need:
- Proven experience in delivering physical training to classes, groups and individuals;
- A Diploma in Sport and Exercise, or equivalent;
- Highly effective communication skills and the ability to relate well to wide range of people;
- A pro-active, positive and inclusive attitude; and
- Take pride in offering the best possible service and display leadership in their area of expertise.
The Force Health Organisation is part of the Joint Services Component Command (JSCC) and delivers health services to NZDF military personnel to maintain and improve health outcomes in order to enhance Force effectiveness.
The Physical Performance Squadron is responsible for the delivery of all Physical Training, Fitness Testing, Rehabilitation, Resilience and Recreational Training both operational and domestically in order to achieve the vision of JSCC.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:
Low level Security Clearance
- most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
