We are looking for an outgoing intermediate level accountant to join our clients team in Hamilton. The successful candidate does not need to be a qualified accountant, however you MUST have a solid accounting background to be considered for this role.
Reporting to the Capital and Fixed Assets Lead, key responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking all accounting processes and practices related to Projects & Fixed Assets, i
- Liaising with transactional finance areas to ensure accuracy of financial asset related transactions at source
- Maintaining capital budgets in Oracle projects module, reconciling to approved project spends and approved Capital Plans
- Preparing Project journals to move costs between projects and between Projects and General Ledger
- Providing support to the Leasing companies with escalated vehicle accounting issues not dealt with by vehicle custodians
- Finalising monthly vehicle lease invoice received from Leasing companies and forward to Accounts Payable for processing
- Managing project queries from business services, providing and executing solutions where necessary in line with current and established practices & processes
To be considered for this role you will offer:
- At least 5 years accounting and/or business analyst experience. At intermediate level or above
- Strong people skills, with confidence to interface across all services with good written oral and presentation skills
- The ability to work with a diverse range of personalities
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
- Exceptional numeracy and literacy skills
Previous experience using large Enterprise Resource Planning Systems such as Oracle would be advantageous, however is not essential.
