Te Whiwhinga a mahi|The opportunity

The P-8A Poseidon is a world-class Maritime and Reconnaissance aircraft, and we are seeking a talented and experienced Supply Chain Specialist to join our diverse Planning Team in providing Supply Chain Service support to this program. The position will be located at the Royal New Zealand Air Force Base Ohakea, New Zealand.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the repairable (RI) and non-repairable (non-RI) inventory items
  • Conduct stock analysis, inventory and stock level assessments for the supply chain
  • Complete daily supply tasks in support of the P-8A program
  • Identify and resolve customer supply chain issues and discrepancies
  • Transact within ERP management systems for the execution of Purchasing, Provisioning, Repairable Items, Receipt and Dispatch of Spares
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Apply technical expertise and communication skills to overcome novel challenges
  • Assist with the engagement, growth and sustainable performance of suppliers to deliver on business commitments

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work independently on occasion, successfully communicate with the Boeing P-8A Program (NZ) team and our customer, and assist with coordinating timely delivery of all supply chain services to the NZDF and the P-8A Operator, 5SQN.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Integrated Logistic fundamentals, such as conducting stock analysis, forecasting requirements and usage assessments, RI and non-RI management within the Defence environment
  • Ability to work with a high level of autonomy in a fast-paced environment
  • High level written and oral communication and negotiation skills to facilitate open interaction between customer support teams, repair agencies and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying, establishing and promoting supply process improvements at the project level.
  • Understanding of Airworthiness standards and advanced knowledge of ERP platforms (ORACLE preferred)
  • Secret security clearance or ability to obtain
  • Competent in the use of PC, MS Windows and MS Office suite
  • Aircraft supply support services knowledge, skills and experience is essential
