An exciting opportunity has become available to work as an administration team leader and join our passionate multi-disciplinary team at Outpatients in Rotorua Hospital.

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of administrators who assist and provide services to the entire hospital and lakes community, including a referral centre who manage all external and internal referrals to specialist services, schedulers who have contact with the community and services within the hospital and receptionists who are our frontline patient facing team. You will bridge the gap between our outpatient department and other key services.

A typical day will involve:
  • Day-to-day management of the administration team, including short notice leave requests and cover arrangements.
  • Overseeing the consistent delivery of high quality patient focused care ensuring KPI's are being met
  • Fostering and building relationships with all services within the hospital and community
  • Ongoing quality improvement initiatives

  • You will demonstrate:
  • Strong people and customer focus;
  • The ability to motivate, empower and foster a positive team culture.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people;
  • A can-do, problem solving attitude with a willingness to learn;
  • Confidence in leading and managing a mid-size team across two sites
  • Planning and organisation skills;
  • Familiarity with patient management systems (not essential)
  • KPI management, record keeping and reporting skills
  • Previous experience providing training to staff members (would be advantageous);
  • Customer service team lead or office administration/management background and/or similar experience;
Awhe utu / Salary range
$73,695 to $86,700 pro-rated to hours worked.
