Registered Nurse


 

Summerset at Bishopscourt (Dunedin) is looking for a Registered Nurse of the highest calibre to join the team.

Our Care Centre is a 42 bed floor that accommodates both Rest Home and Hospital level residents. We also have residents living in their apartments that we provide a high level of care to also - so your shifts will be varied and incredibly interesting.

Working a 4 day on and 2 day off roster of mornings and then afternoons (and some occasional nights) means you get to plan your home life very well as you'll know your work days well in advance. Morning shifts are 0645 - 1500, afternoons are 1445 - 2300 and if you do an occasional night, it'd be 2245 - 0700.

The work itself is absolutely awesome. There is the routine aspects that go with any role, but most days you'll be challenged with some aspect of the care we provide - whether it is first aid, wound care, end of life care or managing some very complex health conditions.

You'll need excellent assessment skills to deal with a wide range of health conditions, wound knowledge, sound judgement and brilliant communication skills.

You'll have another RN on the AM and PM shifts with you to collaborate and support you and vise versa, and a team of 6 - 8 impressive caregivers on each shift, along with out Kaitiaki (wellbeing assistants) and inspirational recreational and diversional therapists to help you bring the best of life to our residents.


The Care Centre manager is a unapologetic stickler for high standards and very high standards of care, so you need to make sure you are too!. The day to day leading of the team is done by the Clinical Nurse Leader who works Tuesday to Saturday. They are another very experienced nurse for you to consult with also if needed. Afterhours, either the Care Centre Manager or Clinical Nurse Leader is on call for any help needed or to escalate risk to.
