Te Tauraki is the Iwi-Māori Partnership Board for the Ngāi Tahu Takiwā.
The Crown's health system was not designed for, and has not reliably worked for, Māori. This is reflected in data that shows inequities for Māori in almost all health outcome areas and inequities in access to the determinants of health and wellbeing.
Shared experiences and stories within whānau tell of generations of poor-quality care from hospitals and health providers, and the cumulative impact of the barriers to seeking hauora. These include the barriers created by ableism, sexism, ageism, and racism.
The aspiration of Te Tauraki is to uplift whānau and hapori Māori so that, collectively, we can transform the health system to be inclusive, tikanga-based, integrated, able to meet community needs, and a champion of Indigenous, evidence- and strengths-based, models and approaches.
As an Iwi-Māori Partnership Board, and as an entity mandated by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu, Te Tauraki has a series of functions it is required to carry out in pursuit of our moemoeā.
If this is a kaupapa that resonates with you, and you have relevant skills, knowledge, and at least 2 years' experience, we would love you to consider joining our expanding team to support the Board to achieve its functions.
We are looking for the right people who have skills that could work across one, or more, of these key areas:
- Commissioning & Service Monitoring
- Papatipu Rūnanga Support & Localities
- Whānau Voice & Data
- System Engagement & Policy
You will have a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of current health reforms and to strengthen your knowledge of, and connections within, the Ngāi Tahu Takiwā. We offer a supportive, dynamic, and excellence-driven workplace, employment benefits and flexibility of location.
